HUNTINGDONSHIRE businesses are being invited to tender for contracts for work on major construction projects at Peterborough's secondary schools.

Work is progressing on extensions to the Jack Hunt School in Ledbury Road, Netherton, and the Ken Stimpson School in Staniland Way, Werrington, and a completely new Voyager School in Walton.

Now developers Bouygues UK Ltd is looking for local businesses to pre-qualify to join the list of preferred contractors to carry out some of the works.

The company is seeking all trades to carry out the internal fit-out of the three sites, the landscaping and preparation of the sport pitches.

It is also looking for architectural trade firms to carry out dry-lining, metalwork, rendering, curtain walling and brickwork cladding, ironmongery, painting, and to install vinyl and timber flooring, false ceilings, mirrors, cubicles and vanity tops.

Mechanical and electrical contractors are also needed to install lifts, heating and plumbing, electric cabling, fire alarms, CCTV and security, air conditioning and ventilation.
