DH BARFORD, the St Neots-based Chartered Surveyors and Planning Consultants, has won planning permission for the erection of a dwelling in Earith, after planning permission was refused by the Huntingdonshire District Council in December 2005 - against planners' advice.
The development control panel considered that the size and position of the dwelling would not adequately respect the character of the existing built environment and that the development would appear over-dominant and intrusive.
The inspector accepted Barfords' argument that the proposed dwelling, as a continuation of the existing terrace, would be sensitive to the layout and form of properties in the immediate area and would not appear dominant or intrusive.
