HUNTINGDON-based Anglian Water Group has announced the appointment of a new director of corporate affairs.

Currently director of communications at BAA Stansted, Mark Pendlington will be joining the Anglian Water executive committee in December.

Mark has many years of business experience in communications and corporate affairs, both nationally and within the Anglian Water region. He has held a number of senior management positions within the energy, environment, transport and communications industries. He was chief executive of the Country Land and Business Association before joining BAA in 2004. He was head of Parliamentary Affairs with British Gas.

Cox, chief executive of Anglian Water Group, said: "Mark joins us at an important point in the water industry's five-yearly price review process. With our draft business plan recently submitted to Ofwat [the water regulator], Mark will play a key role in refining the communications strategy for our investment programme, which tackles the key challenges of climate change and regional growth while maintaining affordability for customers.
