A St Ives-based business has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its track record of innovation.
The Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Julie Spence, was on hand to present the award at the headquarters of PCME, in Edison Road, on Monday.
The award is in recognition of the development and subsequent success of the company’s particulate emission measurement range of products.
These products have been extensively rolled out in China as part of the Chinese government’s commitment to tackle the country’s air pollution issues.
The lord lieutenant and clerk to the lieutenancy, Gillian Beasley, toured PCME’s research and development and production areas, where members of the team described and demonstrated some of the latest particulate emission monitoring technologies and projects.
It is the third Queen’s Award for Enterprise for PCME and their second success in the innovation category, first won in 2007, followed by an international trade category award in 2013.
