ALCONBURY company Westland Horticulture triumphed at the UK Packaging awards with its successful Eraza slug and snail killer packaging.

As winners of the Best Packaging of a New Product award, Eraza slug and snail killer saw off competition from the likes of John Lewis and Marks & Spencer at the awards ceremony in London.

Designed by RPC Packaging, the Eraza packaging features an innovative solution to tackle the issue of over application. The moulded cap provides a restricted flow of pellets ensuring even coverage and that they are scattered sparingly, avoiding concentrated deposits of pellets, to prevent potential harm to wildlife and domestic pets.

Product manager for Westland Horticulture Naomi Jenkins, pictured left with Jim Dale from RPC, said: “The packaging was integral to both the product and the brand and was always at the forefront of the concept. We are absolutely delighted to have won this award and to have been recognised for both the packaging design and innovation.”

Since its launch Eraza has helped to increase Westland’s share of the slug control category by more than 160 per cent.
