BUSINESSES looking for ways to save money at the same time as reducing their impact on the environment are being invited to attend a series of free workshops near St Neots.

The workshops will be run by Resource Efficiency East, a specialist provider of funded business support focused on how businesses can reduce the use of energy, water and materials/waste and achieve financial savings as a result.

The three workshops, which will be run in partnership with several business-focused organisations, including the Chamber of Commerce, Business Link East and the Federation of Small Businesses, will cover a range of topics, aimed at helping businesses to focus on different opportunities to improve their resource efficiency. The workshops will be held at the Wyboston Lakes Conference Centre in St Neots on September 30 (energy and water efficiency), October 29 (waste management and legislation), and November 26 (transport and environmental management systems). In each case, the sessions will take place from 9am to 12pm and will be followed by lunch and a chance to network.

The workshops are available to any small business in Cambridgeshire, and each event will include a presentation by experts in the relevant topic, case study presentations from small businesses that have successfully improved resource efficiency, updates on legislation and support to access grants and funding.

Antony Gough, director of Resource Efficiency East, said: “Improving a business’s resource efficiency is a really effective way of making direct and noticeable savings to the bottom line. This series of free workshops will help businesses identify where they can do this and make savings, and how Resource Efficiency East can provide further support to help put the knowledge into action.”
