The deputy mayor of Huntingdon, Councillor Jay Dyne cut the ribbon on the £2.8million Sandford House pub, built on the site of two landmark buildings in George Street, the old post office and George Hall, which have been derelict for many years. As a part of the revamp the chain has created 75 new jobs including kitchen, bar and waiting staff. A 22-bedroom hotel is set to open in October, at an additional cost of £1.1 million. The hotel will be made of one family, 12 twin and eight double rooms, as well as one room suitable for people with disabilities. The new pub will specialise in real ales, as well as craft and world beers, serving a wide range of different draught ales, as well as bottled beers, including those from local and regional brewers.
