BROOKFIELD Residential Home, in Somersham, has been sold to a Buckinghamshire couple for an undisclosed sum.
Ian and Margaret James, who ran the 14-bed care home for seven years, will now concentrate on their domiciliary care business and another care home in Yorkshire.
The new owners, experienced operators, Mark and Kirsty Janes, have taken over the substantial two-storey detached property, with a single-storey extension to the rear, overlooking the garden. It trades as a care home under the category of elderly and dementia.
Robert Mellamphy, from Christie and Company's Ipswich Office, who handled the sale, said: "There is still a strong place in the market for the smaller, family-run style of homes that offer quality care and accommodation. This sale illustrates that we are able to find buyers for all sizes and types of home across the region.
