Huntingdon-based racing car manufacturers, engineers and designers Lola Cars Group, which will shortly celebrate 50 years in business, is to have a new managing director in July. Andrew Manahan, pictured, will join from Schleifring Systems, where he is managing director of the UK facility in Berkshire. He will have group responsibility and will manage Lola's composites business. He will work closely with Rupert Manwaring, MD of the cars division. Lola's recent successes in the composites field include the production of a prototype underwater unmanned vehicle for BAe Systems, tooling for an unmanned aerial vehicle, and panels for the Mercedes SLR McLaren supercar. Lola chairman Martin Burrane said the company was working on a number of high-profile composites initiatives.
