HUNTINGDON town centre manager Katy Sismore has welcomed the opening of the town's second Argos store, but warned that tough times could still lie ahead for Huntingdon retailers.
The new 16,000sq ft premises, on Stukeley Retail Park, were opened on Thursday by Mayor Cllr Saeed Akthar with the creation of 32 new jobs.
Mrs Sismore said: "Another Argos store is a good sign for the ongoing regeneration of Huntingdon, especially as it will be in addition to the existing store in the High Street.
"But we are not out of the woods yet, because it is still very tough for many retailers out there. The recent cold weather has kept shoppers at home: that's been money lost to the retailers, because people don't spend double when they come out the next time."

She added: "However, in the grand scheme of things, Huntingdon is holding up very well. January and February are always slower as the post-Christmas months, but we are hoping for things to improve further in the run-up to Easter.
