DISABILITY experts the Papworth Trust has announced two new appointments.

Nicola Roulston joins as policy and external affairs manager. She was previously public affairs manager at insurance giant Aviva, managing the lobbying activity for the general insurance arm of the business. In her previous role, Nicola's lobbying experience covered a variety of issues including road safety, flooding, financial inclusion and more recently age discrimination.

In addition, she managed the public affairs activity for RAC motoring services and project-managed the 2008 RAC Report on Motoring series. Before joining Aviva Nicola worked for over three years in Westminster as a Parliamentary researcher for Scottish Labour MP, Brian Donohoe.

Adela Xu has also joined the team as a researcher, having previously worked as a project co-ordinator at the Papworth Trust Centre, in Papworth Everard, since 2007. Before joining the trust, Adela worked in the communication team for Nokia in China, before taking on the role of project manager working with an electronic waste management company in Singapore.
