HUNTINGDON-based Munters Limited, which specialises in energy efficient air treatment solutions and restoration services based on expertise in humidity and climate control technologies, is set to acquire a Belgian air conditioning manufacturer.

The UK arm of the company, founded in Sweden more than 50 years ago, has agreed terms to buy Toussaint Nyssenne, which makes high quality customised air-con systems for offices, public buildings and industry, employs more than 150 people and turned over €17million last year.

Munters hopes the acquisition will also provide access to new European markets for its Drycool/HCU technology, which provide separate control of temperature and humidity, providing fresh air to a building with up to 45 per cent lower energy costs, the firm says.

Munters' damage restoration division is renowned for its rapid reaction to natural disasters, such as flooding, and fire damage. The company's third division specialises in climate control in buildings.

The UK company, which has around 300 Huntingdon-based employees, has been in the Sunday Times list of the nation's 100 best companies to work for in 2007 and 2008.
