MICK George Ltd has been recognised for its efforts to minimise its environmental impact.
The company was certified with the internationally-recognised standard ISO 14001 in Environmental Management Systems (EMS), which is regularly audited and certified by an external certification body.
The standard recognises companies that take measures to minimise their environmental impact by implementing an EMS and enforcing organisational best practice.
Managing director Mick George said: “The company has always adopted and maintained extremely high standards and practices in terms of its environmental management and performance throughout all of our operations. I am delighted that this has been recognised by the ISO 14001 certification.”

Mick George Ltd had to demonstrate an effective environmental policy covering training, energy use, purchasing of materials, and plant and fleet maintenance from an environmentally-friendly point of view.
Companies must continually review their activities for environmental impact, which has the associated benefit of reducing waste management costs, and offering savings on energy, materials and distribution and improved public image.
