Juan Roman, pictured, has joined the Health Enterprise East team, the NHS enterprise hub for the East of England, based at Papworth Hospital, as medtech service manager.
His job will be to streamline healthcare product development. He will be able to access advice from appropriate scientists and clinicians for early feedback on innovations, as well as liaising with health economists on cost-effectiveness and the clinical research infrastructure on support for the design and implementation of any clinical trials required.
Keeping abreast of current strategic thinking on health and health service priorities in the UK will also be part of the brief, with the aim of increasing innovation development based on the needs of both clinicians and patients, HEE said.
Juan Holds a BSc in physics, two MScs in optics and a PhD in optical metrology.
