HUNTINGDONSHIRE District Council's community information centres at Ramsey and Yaxley successfully achieved an accreditation for the Customer Service Excellence award. Customer Service Excellence, which replaced the Charter Mark award, is the Government's national standard for public services that display excellent customer service. The team achieved the award by providing evidence of how they met five criteria for the customer service excellence standard, HDC said. The community information centres have specially-trained staff to deal with a variety of queries. They also provide a base for organisations that use the centres as meeting places. Their primary role is to deal with a wide range of council services, as well as getting involved in local community issues and projects. Call centre manager Tracey Davidson said: "This award demonstrates that our services are high quality and highly valued by our customers.
