HUNTINGDON-based flight simulation company Just Flight will be hosting this year’s flight simulation event, Flight Sim 2010, at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford, during the Battle of Britain Air Show over the first weekend of September.
The company sprang to the public’s attention in January last year when the BBC commissioned it to show on a simulator what the pilot of the Airbus that ditched in the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 people on board, would have experienced after he lost both engines to a bird strike.
Nearer home, on September 4 and 5, Flight Sim 2010 will bring together the major names from the flight simulation world to demonstrate the best in virtual aviation to those attending the show.
Visitors will get the chance to see the latest releases at first hand, chat with leading figures from the simulation industry and also try their hand at flying. The range of aircraft and locations available to virtual pilots is as wide as that of their real world counterparts, says Just Flight, part of the Mastertronic Group and based at the Stukeley Meadows industrial estate.
You may also want to watch:
“The sky’s no longer the limit, and PC pilots can fly anything from a World War 1 SE5A to a Spitfire, Hurricane or a modern Airbus airliner.”
Once visitors have paid to get into the show, entrance to Flight Sim 2010 is free.
