HUNTINGDON businesses are to be shown how to exploit the power of social media - including Facebook and Twitter - at a seminar run by an industry expert.
David Cushman is offering the seminar at Huntingdon Library on Friday October 2 from 10.30pm to12.45pm. He insists every business can benefit from the session.
"With 50 per cent of the time people spend on media now being spent participating in social media - from text to Twitter, and e-mail to Facebook - no business can afford to ignore its impact."
The short seminar is designed to provide a rapid and clear explanation of what social media are and how their widespread use is creating powerful new disruptive forces that organisations can choose to be part of and benefit from.
Mr Cushman is a leading thinker on the direction of new media, and runs frequent social media courses for international companies. He writes a respected media blog at and has recently published a collection of his papers - The Power of the Network - to share his thinking.
"People form themselves into communities nowadays," he said. "Social media unlock new efficiencies for every form of business and organisation, from new product development to new forms of marketing. Every business can learn and improve how to deal with social media."
