HUNTINGDON-based manufacturer Pursuit Dynamics has signed the third in a series of North American bio-ethanol contracts that will see it net millions of dollars a year.

The company (PDX) has signed a contract to install its ethanol reactor system at the Nebraska plant of Mid America Bio Energy and Commodities (MABE).

The contract with MABE follows the announcement in June this year of agreements to install the system at ICM’s Marquis plant and Pacific Ethanol’s Boardman plant.

All three plants will run the system for up to 10 weeks to quantify the operational benefits in a commercial environment. The data will be used to calculate an annual fee per gallon to be charged by PDX on a quarterly basis for the use of the ERS. Based on the extensive trials conducted at ICM’s St Joe plant, the average fee is expected to be in the range of between two and four US cents per gallon.

With the three plants at Marquis, Boardman and MABE, PDX will have approximately 250 million gallons in production per year.

The firm’s commercial plan envisages signing contracts with approximately 60 plants representing approximately five billion gallons of production over the next three years. It expects to announce further contractual agreements over the coming months.
