A Huntingdon firm have secured a contract to provide its toilet unit for a train upgrade.
TRB Lightweight Structures will supply the Riviera Sleeper, which runs from London to Cornwall. with its PRM-TSI Universal Access Toilet (UAT) Module, which is designed, manufactured and installed by the Clifton Road firm.
The toilet module is easily retrofitted into new and existing builds and can reduce the weight of a four-carriage train by 200kg. It can also reduce running costs by up to 12 per cent.
Andrew Dugmore, president of TRB, said: “Having the capability to design, engineer, manufacture and service our own products is a major benefit for train operators. Designed to fit many class of vehicles, both new build and refurb, our UAT is a complete modular solution for train operators looking to get PRM-compliant.”
