TWO family-run businesses near St Neots are toasting the future after agreeing a partnership.
The Smiling Grape Company, a wine merchant based in High Street, St Neots, and a finalist in the Retailer of the Year award at the 2010 Drinks Retailing Awards, is to supply wines to The Horseshoe Inn and Restaurant in Offord D’Arcy.
The two companies said that they had much in common, both being family-run with a focus on supporting local people and businesses.
Matt Ellis, managing partner of The Smiling Grape Company, said: “We have developed a successful business wholesaling carefully sourced “trade only” wines to many restaurants and pubs, as well as to the colleges of the universities of Cambridge and Oxford.
“Our greatest talent is to develop wine lists successfully for our wholesale customers, creating an eclectic mix of high quality and great value wines from around the world.”
The Smiling Grape Company said it had created an exciting wine list for the Horseshoe Inn and Restaurant, which carefully matched wines with the frequently-changing and locally-sourced fresh food menu.
