Gazeley House, sold by the county council in 2009, now belongs to Clegg Developments, which bought the Grade II-listed building, in Princes Street, as part of The Walks development. The three-storey property, which includes the two-storey adjoining Gazeley Cottage, had been marketed by Barker Storey Matthews for over a year but will be auctioned by Allsop, on September 18, with a guide price of £260,000. The auction will take place at The Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London, and Barker Storey Matthews has been showing potential buyers around the property. A spokesman said: Although weve had a lot of interest, buyers have backed out. Clegg Developments would welcome a restaurant at the building but do not want to see a pub or a club due to the number of homes close by.
