A PAPWORTH Everard café has won a five-star Elite Award from South Cambs District Council

A PAPWORTH Everard café which provides retail training and work experience for disabled people has become one of the first businesses to receive a five-start Elite Award from South Cambs District Council.

Coffee Unlimited won the award, which was launched in June, after scoring consistently highly in the "scores on the doors" food hygiene ratings over the past four years.

Manager Julie Hankinson said: "We were delighted to receive the Elite Award. I am very proud of the whole team here, which includes clients from Papworth Trust's Learning for Life and Work Centre, work experience placements from local schools and colleges, and our volunteers. This is an exciting time for us as we expand our service to open on Saturdays from July 3."

Cllr Sue Ellington, environmental services portfolio holder, said: "I'm delighted to recognise the consistently high food safety standards of so many local businesses.

"It's not easy to achieve a five-star rating, so I wholeheartedly congratulate the management and staff of each establishment on their hard work."
