KIMBOLTON-based independent financial advisers Beacon Financial Limited has taken on three new staff members to cope with its expanding workload, in spite of the recession - and collected an entry in Who's Who.

The firm, which has been around for 75 years, has recruited Andrew Murdoch as adviser and solicitor, Emma Chambers as "paraplanner" and Katie Larkins as marketing executive, taking the workforce from 11 employees to 14.

Oxford University Press has also recognised Beacon's managing director Tony Larkins by including him in this years' Who's Who, "the definitive directory of everyone who's anyone in Britain, and beyond, today", according to the publishers.

Mr Larkins said: "I feel the fact that we genuinely consist of independent financial advisers with above-average qualifications and provide unbiased advice specific to personal and corporate clients has helped Beacon Financial Ltd stand out and continue to expand.
