Essex GP to head NHS in Cambs
DR Paul Zollinger-Read is to be the new chief executive of NHS Cambridgeshire, the primary care trust. He is due to take up his new post early in 2010. Dr Zollinger-Read has been chief executive of NHS North East Essex since its creation in October 2006.

Dr Zollinger-Read has been chief executive of NHS North East Essex since its creation in October 2006. He is also a practising GP.
Maureen Donnelly, chairman of NHS Cambridgeshire said: "These are challenging times for the NHS, and it is good that we will have someone of Paul's calibre and experience to lead NHS Cambridgeshire.
"I would also like to thank our outgoing chief executive, Chris Banks. He has been an excellent leader of the whole NHS in Cambridgeshire over a difficult period. I wish him well in his new venture."

Dr Zollinger-Read added: "The NHS is facing a period of considerable challenge. Therefore, my main priority is to ensure that we continue to develop good quality health care services to suit the needs of people living in Cambridgeshire."
Mr Banks is leaving to pursue other interests.
