HUNTINGDON-based social landlord Luminus has won the Best Regeneration Scheme category for Joseph Rank House, in Harlow, in the 2012 Housing Excellence Awards.
The event highlights organisations leading the way in housing, with Luminus praised for its work in improving Harlow’s town centre in Essex.
Joseph Rank House is a 12-storey 1960s office block that had fallen into disrepair before Luminus purchased it in 2005.
The company took the award after converting the landmark building into 132 apartments, 52 of them for affordable housing. The award was accepted by the Luminus’s Simon Leher, left, from Steve Malone, managing director of category sponsor CEL Group’s procurement for housing.
