RESOURCE Efficiency East (REE) is to set up a group to help businesses cut waste and reduce the use of water, energy and raw materials.
The EMS Club will offer guidance on implementing an environmental management system (EMS) to 100 small companies from the East of England from February to November 2010. One-to-one support will be provided to help businesses assess the priority areas in which an EMS could offer cost savings, and workshops will run at venues spread across the region.
REE director Antony Gough said: "The EMS Club will really benefit smaller companies for whom an EMS would result in both cost savings and a reduction in their impact on the environment, but who don't know how to get started."
