SOME of the district's creative minds were last week brought together under one roof to help form plans to promote and grow industry in the Huntingdonshire. More than 2,000 people in the area are already employed in the creative industries, but Huntingdonshire District Council, the hosts of Thursday's event at the George Hotel in Buckden, is keen to see further growth in the creative economy. David Monks, the council's chief executive, said the meeting provided an opportunity to talk directly with the industry and gather ideas and comments on various issues - from skills and education, to spaces for creative businesses. The information gathered last Thursday will now be used by HDC to review its local economy strategy and implement a creative industries strategy. Feedback from the evening will also be posted on the council's website (www.huntsdc.gov.uk).
