HUNTINGDONSHIRE Regional College in Huntingdon has appointed Steve Favell as head of its business development unit, providing dedicated services and support to businesses of all sizes in the area He told The Hunts Post: "Our prime objective is to help businesses identify the training needs of their employees, ensuring professional delivery of the courses and arranging government funding too." Mr Favell, 51, has a working lifetime's experience in business management, sales and training, with colleges for the past three years. He said he actively sought out the HRC position because of the college's facilities - a fully-fledged business centre - and its reputation. "The opportunities to build on the college's expertise are immense, the calibre and number of employers in the area mean the opportunities for work-based learning are enormous, and the Government's thrust in educating the nation is tremendous. On top of that, the area is central in the country." Mr Favell, who lives in Felixstowe, is not fazed by the three-hour round trip to work. "People may complain about the A14, but it's not that bad.
