BRUCE Dawson, marketing manager of St Neots agricultural supplier Lely UK, has retired after 35 years with the company. He is succeeded by Holly Jones as the firm's new marketing executive. Bruce, pictured with his successor, joined Lely's agricultural division as Scottish sales manager in the early 1970s and, having relocated to East Anglia as area sales manager in 1979 and progressed to UK sales manager soon afterwards, was appointed marketing manager in 1989. "I'm very much looking forward to my retirement and take with me a lot of fond memories of my time at Lely," he said. Holly Jones will work across the Station Road company's product portfolio, which spans Toro commercial turf machinery, irrigation systems, consumer lawnmowers and garden equipment and Otterbine aerating fountains, as well as an extensive agricultural offering, overseeing its marketing activities with immediate effect. With five years' first-hand experience of the Lely business under her belt - most recently in sales support for the irrigation division - Holly believes that this insider knowledge, together with her natural flair for marketing, will help her hit the ground running.
