A woman was held at knifepoint as her Huntingdon home was ransacked by burglars this morning (Friday).

The woman was in her house in Maple Drive at about 10am when two men came in through the back door wielding a small rounders bat and a knife.

It is thought that one of the intruders held a knife to the woman's throat as the other searched the house.

The two men, who were both wearing black balaclavas, made off with cash, jewellery and an iPad.

They were described as in their 20s and white. One was wearing a black hooded top and the other was wearing a grey hooded top.

The woman was left shaken by the incident but was not injured.

Cambridgeshire police said they were treating it as an isolated incident.
