Would-be burglars attempted to smash their way into a supermarket in St Ives using a car.
Cambridgeshire police have launched an appeal after an attempt was made to break into a branch of the Co-Op, in Constable Road, in the early hours of Sunday.
A spokesman for the force said: “A vehicle was used in an attempt to force a roller shutter on a door, but this was unsuccessful and the offenders have left without gaining entry. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw a dark coloured BMW in the Constable Road area around the time of the offence.
“Anyone who believes that they have seen or heard any suspicious people or vehicles in the area around the time of this offence is asked to call Huntingdonshire burglary team on 101.”
