A BUCKDEN pub landlord claims he could go out of business after councillors cut the pubs opening hours. Terry Page, who runs the Vine in the villages High Street, believes a licensing hearing last month was stacked against him. In spite of his assurances and support from customers and others, Huntingdonshire District Councils licensing panel decided to restrict the pubs late-night opening. Instead of being able to sell drink and play music until 1.30am and remain open until 2am, the Vine must now stop selling and turn off the music by 11pm and be clear of customers by 11.30pm. Mr Page said. I made most of my money at weekends between 10pm and 12.30am, and Ive noticed the difference already. I have a valuer coming in this week. We cant really live with the new arrangements. Mr Page said he would be talking to a solicitor about a possible appeal to Huntingdon Magistrates Court. What was said at the licensing hearing was fabricated. It was like them versus me, he said.
