A five-year-old girl from Little Paxton has donated 15 inches of her hair and raised hundreds of pounds for a children’s charity.
Alexa Chappell, of Park Drive, approached her parents Kelly and Phil before Christmas and said she wanted to help “someone who doesn’t have hair because I have lots”.
“We have absolutely no idea how she knew about children with cancer but she wanted to help so we contacted the charity.”
Kelly and Phil took Alexa along to Molbys hair salon in St Neots on Saturday and she had her hair cut. They will now hand over £758.25 to the Princess Trust charity and will arrange to send Alexa’s hair, which will be made into a wig for a child who has lost their hair through cancer or other treatment, to the charity.
