STORY MAKERS: Children at Brampton Day Nursery are getting creative by penning their own book.
During March, to coincide with World Book Day, the youngsters have shared their favourite books and have worked together to produce characters, setting and plot. At each stage the children put forward their ideas then voted on their favourite.
Emma Morrice, nursery manager, said: “The children have shaped a storyboard based on the decision that the setting should be somewhere hot. They talked about the colours they should use and the types of animals that might be in the story too.
“Throughout this process we have really seen the children’s imagination brought to life. The children’s project has encompassed all areas of the curriculum and has encouraged them to take control of their own learning.”
