Residents at Hardwick Dene residential home were treated to a visit from a four legged friend.

A Shetland pony was bought into the home in Brampton to meet all the residents and give them a chance to stroke the small animal.

Activities coordinator Naomi Taylor: "They all loved it coming in; it was a really good afternoon.

"It was really nice and happy the residents, we are hopping to do it again."

The pony bought back memories for a lot of the residents as many had either owned ponies or had worked with them when they were younger.

The afternoon was the second animal visitors that the care home has had.

"We recently held a zoo lab afternoon where a man bought in exotic animals for all the residents to look at," added Naomi.
