A 12-year-old boy has been questioned by police following a fire which destroyed a stack of baled straw on a farm at Great Stukeley.
Two fire crews from Huntingdon were called to the blaze in the stack at Green End just before 2pm on Thursday.
They found a 30 metre square stack of straw alight and used hoses to prevent the fire from intensifying, working with a team from the farm to break up the stack in a bid to prevent the blaze spreading.
A police spokesman said a 12-year-old boy had been “spoken to” but no formal sanctions had been given and inquiries into the fire were continuing.
Firefighters left the stack to burn out safely, with crews making regular checks on the site.
