Huntingdon County Bowls Club presented a cheque for more than £1,000 to Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Club presidents Carole Hickey and Steve Williams handed over £1,120 to Jessica Hiscocks from funds which had been collected during the 2015 season.

Ms Hiscocks said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive such a large cheque from Huntingdon County Bowlers. We can see how hard Carole and Steve have worked as presidents and cannot thank enough for their support.

“There are over 850,000 people across the UK living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including over 2,000 people in the Huntingdon area, despite this dementia research is still significantly underfunded compared to other serious diseases.

“We rely on public donations to fund our world class research and it’s thanks to the commitment and generosity of groups like Huntingdon County bowlers that we are able to continue our crucial work.”
