Johnny Johnson, of 617 Squadron, was among a host of veterans who appeared at the special commemorative event at the Comrades Club, in Cambridge Street. Also in attendance were wireless operators, gunners and pilots who, between them, completed hundreds of missions during the Second World War over Europe, as well as some, like Donald Jeffs and Henry Wagner, who became prisoners of war. The veterans spoke to visitors about their experiences, posed for pictures, and signed autographs. The event also saw exhibitions and displays from a range of groups, including the Little Gransden Air Show, Brampton Model Club, and Godmanchesters own Porch Museum. It was the second time the event has been held, following a successful inaugural event last year.
