Cambridgeshire police were called at about 12.15pm by staff at Santander following reports that a suspicious package had been discovered in the bank branch. A spokesman for police confirmed that officers had attended and that staff at Santander and at neighbouring shops had been evacuated and the High Street sealed off. A team from the RAFs specialist bomb disposal unit was also called to attend. According to reports, the package was removed and a controlled explosion carried out. The High Street re-opened to shoppers at about 4pm.
