A FIRE took hold in a disused grain store.

Emergency crews from Gamlingay, St Neots and Potton were dispatched to the site at Great Gransden Aerodrome at 8.50am on Monday (December 13), where a barn was under renovation.

The barn, which measured approximately 80m x 80m, was heavily smoke logged as a result of the accidental blaze.

Fire fighters from St Neots returned to the scene of the incident in Mill Road, Great Gransden, throughout the afternoon to damp down hotspots.
