THE Bishop of Huntingdon is to make a Lenten mini-pilgrimage through part of the district in two weeks’ time.
The Rt Rev David Thomson is inviting members of the public to join him for the series of short walks, starting at All Saints’ Church, Hartford, with a short service using a meditation from his Listening in Lent booklet at 10 am on Thursday March 15.
He will then move on up river to the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Godmanchester, talking on the way about how he and fellow pilgrims Imagine The Future, in response to the Bishop of Ely’s booklet of that name.
The pilgrimage then re-crosses the town bridge on the way to St Mary’s Church, Huntingdon, for lunch at 1pm and a further service at 2pm, returning via St Barnabas, Oxmoor, to Hartford for a final service between 3.30pm and 4pm.
The event is one of six of Bishop David’s mini-pilgrimages, the first of which was last weekend in north Huntingdonshire and parts of Peterborough that are also in the Diocese of Ely.
