FOUR of Graveleys newest bell-ringing recruits are still in their teens, but they proved to be old hands at producing a good ding-dong. While their friends might be more interested in mobile ring-tones, Tom Drysdale, 16, Glen Munday, 15, Thomas Dakin, 15 and Faith Munday, 16 have been learning all about the art of bell-ringing from veteran Bill Stevens. Mr Stevens, 93, of High Street, Graveley has taught bell ringing in the village for 20 years. On Friday evening, Mr Stevens was joined by his latest round of students for a bell ringing concert and cheese and wine evening at St Botolphs Church. The four will now be performing with Mr Stevens and fellow bell ringer Pat Mansor at a Christmas Carol concert on a date yet to be confirmed. Mrs Mansor said Mr Stevens work was a great achievement and very valued in the local community. She said: Bill has been teaching people to ring bells for the last 20 years, its tremendous. Its lovely, it really is.
