A shop owner in St Neots has come up with a novel way of raising money for this year’s British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Babs Baxter, of Beautiful Swagger, in High Street, and a group of volunteers are using their crochet skills to make woollen poppies, which they are selling for £1.
“We know the British Legion is a good cause as it reaches across the generations and is supported by many of our customers so we thought this was a nice idea,” said Babs.
All the materials have been supplied by Beautiful Swagger so all the money from the sale of the poppies will go to the British Legion. This year’s Armistice Day is on November 11 and Remembrance Sunday is on November 13.
