Could Beacon Financial Ltd and Beacon Wealth Management Ltd in Kimbolton be the most caring company in Huntingdonshire? The team raised �4,681.94 for different charities throughout 2011.

As part of their efforts, administrator Amie Brotherton, 25, from Higham Ferrers took part in a swimathon for Marie Curie Cancer Care, and paraplanner Jeremy Bevens from Somersham cycled 26 miles in and around London for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research.

In September five company members - Katie Larkins, Karen Larkins and managing director Tony Larkins, all from St Neots, as well as Miss Brotherton and Vera Adams from Ellington - trekked 26 miles along the chalk downs for Help for Heroes.

Financial advisor Eammon Dorling did the same course, but ran it. Eamonn from Whittlesey in Peterborough also ran 40 miles around a 400 meter track for Cancer Research.

Beacon was also one of more than 100 companies who signed up to the Heroes Welcome scheme, spearheaded by Huntingdonshire District Council. As part of the scheme, the company are offering a 20 per cent discount to current service men and women.

And for Children in Need, the Beacon team dressed up as Captain Hook, Phantom of the Opera, Minnie Mouse, a sumo wrestler, a builder, a native American, a fairy, abd a cheerleader.

They also baked cakes and escorted Pudsey around local businesses for two days visiting schools, companies and even the St Neots Mayor Councillor Barry Chapman to help raise money. Marketing director Katie said the team were already planning events for this year.
