Firefighters from Huntingdon were called to The Shubbery just after 8pm to reports of a car on fire. The blaze was extinguished by 8.35pm. The cause of the fire was deliberate. Flames spread from a shed fire to a tractor in an allotment on Saturday (February 25). Fire crews from St Ives and Chatteris were sent to Chapel Field Lane, Somersham, at 2.45pm. After half an hour, firefighters confirmed gas cylinders were involved. It is thought the fire was started by a discarded cigarette. A fire service spokesperson said: A cigarette is hot enough to start a fire even if you think you have put it out - this is why you should only dispose of smoking materials into a proper ashtray. Firefighters from St Ives and Huntingdon were called to a trailer on fire in Earith at 9.40pm on Saturday. The trailer fire, on Long Holme Drove, was extinguished by 11.20pm.
