The fire, in Rectory Close, was reported just before 2am and firefighters from St Neots found that the property had been evacuated safely when they arrived at the scene. Firefighters saw that the blaze, involving a caravan, had spread to a nearby house and cars. Two fire crews were called out to the incident and used hoses to put out the fire. They were at the scene for nearly three hours. Firefighters initially said the cause of the blaze was deliberate. But this afternoon police concluded that, following investigations, the incident was no longer being treated as suspicious. Yesterday firefighters from Gamlingay were called to a shed fire in Station Road where they discovered the building was well alight. The cause of the incident, which happened at about 10.40am was accidental.
