A group of mounted yeomanry formed a special part of the Armistice Day commemorations in Kimbolton.
Centred around Kimbolton Castle, villagers saw a parade featuring dozens of cubs, brownies, cadets, and serving personnel, and there was also a group of four riders dressed in the First World War uniforms of the Bedfordshire Yeomanry.
Pete Digby, chairman of Kimbolton Royal British Legion, said: “The weather was really good and the service was excellent. We had the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Lady Sally Duberley, in attendance and we had Captain Richard Harrison, of the Royal Navy, who led the service in the church.”
Mr Digby said about 400 people had attended the parade and service, including former pupils of Kimbolton School, cubs, brownies, scouts, and cadets, as well as members of the public.
He added: “We also had four horses and riders who were dressed in Bedfordshire Yeomanry First World War uniforms. It was a very successful event.”
A reception was held after the service for members of the Kimbolton branch of the legion at Kimbolton Castle.
