Armed police called after ‘man with weapon’ is seen at leisure park in Huntingdon

A man has been arrested after an incident of criminal damage in Huntingdon on Saturday.
Police were called at 1.50pm amid reports of a man with a weapon at Towerfields Leisure Park, Huntingdon.
The man caused criminal damage to a restaurant at the leisure park before fleeing the scene and into a nearby property in Surrey Road.
Officers, including armed police and trained negotiators, attended the scene and gained entry to the house.
A man was arrested just before 3pm in connection with the incident and remains in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station in Peterborough.
