CASTLE Hill House in Huntingdon is to be converted into offices for an architectural practice as well as a complex of high quality serviced offices.

MSpace Architects, which is based in Leatherhead, Surrey, completed a 575,000 deal with Huntingdonshire District Council for the Grade II* listed building, in the town’s high street, at the end of last month.

Work will now start converting the former headquarters of the RAF Pathfinder squadron, with the aim of the refitted offices being ready early next year.

MSpace managing director Michael King said: “We have been looking for some time to find a suitable building to relocate our architectural practice. When we castle hill House we realised it would serve this function.

“In addition, it will also provide the opportunity to create a really first rate, stylish, fully-services office centre similar to our operation at Thorncraft Manor and elsewhere in the south-east.

“We are anticipating starting the fit-out of the building in the course of the next few weeks with the new offices being available for occupation early in 2013.”

Commercial property agents Barker Storey Matthews, which negotiated the sale of the 18th century building, will be marketing the serviced offices which will be available to suit sole traders through to firms with up to 50 employees.
