Last week, we launched our fourth Hollys Helpers appeal to put smiles on the faces of children who are staying in Hinchingbrooke Hospital over the festive period. The first few presents have been dropped off to be added to Father Christmass sack ready for his special visit to the hospitals Holly Ward, which cares for children from newborns to 17-year-olds. To help him prepare we are asking our readers to donate books, CDs, DVDs, games, toys and other gifts. Last year 200 presents were handed out to children, including clothes, teddy bears, colouring books, dolls and Lego sets. Christine Luckham, ward sister on Holly Ward, said the gifts raise the spirits of youngsters at one of the worst times of the year to be in hospital. If you have a gift to donate to The Hunts Posts Hollys Helpers Appeal, drop it into our office at 30 High Street, Huntingdon, by December 18. All gifts should be wrapped with a note of explanation as to who it would be suitable, for example suitable for boys 5+. Thank you once again for your support.
